The living area
The main living area with its large comfortable sofas is dominated by a breathtaking cathedral ceiling. There is a large open fireplace with oak lintel and stone surround, perfect for making a real log fire on chilly nights (you are welcome to use the logs supplied with the house). The terracotta tiled floor is deliciously cool in summer but warmed in winter by underfloor heating. Glazed patio doors open on to the south-facing terrace and fill the room with light. Original exposed stonework and oak beams enhance the cosy and traditional atmosphere. Alongside is a smaller sitting area with a country pine table and upright piano. The living areas and dining room are all open plan. The dining room is furnished with French country funiture and its farmhouse oak table can sit up to 10.

The Kitchen
The sunny country kitchen is separated from the dining area by an open timber frame. It is hand-built in solid wood hand-built Shaker-style with pristine granite worktops. It is fully equipped with new, modern appliances: a dish-washer and large fridge/freezer, kettle, coffee machine and toaster as well as a generous supply of glasses, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. There is a large free-standing semi-professional gas cooker. The washing machine is in a separate utility room off the kitchen, along with iron and ironing board. A baby chair and a booster seat are provided. You'll also find BBQ tools, a picinic set and cool bags. |

Downstairs bedrooms
A long corridor opens onto 3 spacious, immaculate bedrooms with many original touches. The east-facing main bedroom with its hand-carved wooden frame bed has large French windows which open directly onto the garden terrance and its view across lovely countryside - perfect for a breakfast in the morning sunshine. The western bedroom has an old-fashioned metal-framed double bed. The middle bedroom has twin beds and a fixed wooden cot. There is also a fold-up travel cot if needed. |

Bathrooms
The 2 downstairs bathrooms are modern and beautifully tiled in white with blue touches. One comprises a walk-in shower with WC and washbasin. The other bathroom has a large, deep bath and washbasin. Both come complete with the best towels and fittings of the highest standard, with large seche-serviettes. There is a second, separate WC. |

Upstairs
An oak staircase leads to a wonderfully light mezzanine area with varnished pine floor. This room overlooks the living area and has a large Velux window and extensive library. The futon can sleep an additional 2 people. Off the mezzanine, there is also a very spacious twin bedroom with Velux window and many, many children's books and toys.
